Arkansas Black
A dark purplish apple with a tart tangy sweet flavor which improves in storage. Available in October.
Braeburn
Rich and complex with a hint of cinnamon, a flavor author Rowan Jacobsen describes as “emphatically appley”. Braeburn bakes well and makes an excellent sauce that requires little sugar. Available in mid-October.
Chestnut Crab
Orangish red with a light russeting. Small with a sweet flavor. James Beard award-winning author, Rowan Jacobsen, describes its flavor as “peach pie on a graham cracker crust.” Available in September.
Cortland
Sweetly tart apple that resists browning. A bit soft for some. Great in salads and sauces. Available in September.
Enterprise
Firm and crisp with a spicy aroma and mildly tart. Available in October.
Florina (Querina)
Sweet, aromatic flavor combined with a crisp juicy texture. Available in September.
Fuji
Sweet, juicy and exceptionally crisp. Fuji's spicy, crisp sweetness makes it excellent out of hand or as applesauce. Originally from Japan. Available in September.
Goldrush
Writer Roger Yepsen notes, “Goldrush delivers one of the most stimulating experiences to be found on a tree…[It] has a tart, winy, clean edge that feels effervescent on the tongue.” Available in October.
Jonagold
A large, crisp, juicy apple with a honey-tart flavor. It is great for both eating and baking. Michael Pollan calls it “one of the great achievements of modern apple breeding”. Available in September.
Kidd’s Orange Red
Primarily a sweet apple with a rich complexity to its flavors reminiscent of a good French dessert wine. Available in September.
Pink Lady
Crunchy texture with a tart taste and a sweet finish. The white flesh is crisp and juicy and provides a burst of flavor. Available in October.
Pristine
This lemon-yellow apple with a sweet tart taste is the first apple of the season. Considered by many to be the best tasting early apple. Available in late June / early July.
Reine des Reinettes
Small but with tons of sweetness, acidity, and tropical aromatics. Available in September.
Rubinette
Considered by many to be the best tasting apple, this moderately juicy apple has a sweet, sharp flavor. Available in late August / early September.
Virginia Beauty
This apple has a light sweetness with a yellow flesh that is fine-grained and tender. Popular for fresh eating, baking and preserves. Available in September.
